Zarahel asked:

I pay around $300 for both the car (2001 Hyundai sonata) and the insurance, but me and my husband are having our second child and we know that we need something bigger but cannot find an suv for less than $300, then we still have to pay for insurance. Is anyone out there that pays less than that for a good suv? Thanks for the help

I bought my daily driver car for $100 (total one time payment) and I pay $240 (per year) for full coverage on my other two cars. How does that sound? Why do you have to pay every month? That sounds like a HUGE waste of money.

Hmm, if you are looking only at new then you won’t be able to buy something bigger then a Sonata for only $300 a month. You can probably get a 3-4 year old Santa Fe for about $10000 used and your payment over 4 years would be about $250 including interest. There are plenty of them to choose from on autotrader.com You can also get a nice 2000 or 2001 Nissan Quest for about $7000 fully loaded under 100K miles.
