You have to watch the “Tim Hawkins – The Government Can” Video here on youtube. It’s great! It’s a spoof of the old candy man song.

Excellent video Don. Great diction and comment on American behaviour. It is this type of analysis and commentary that furthers us as a species – opposed to the “oatmeal for the brain programming”.

Gold is above $1000 Don. Are you going to make a video about this milestone?

I guess you don’t believe the system is sound – like the whole thing is based on debt and making a profit from those debts?
To be independent of debt is the goal we should seek, right?
With that – with or without a car one needs to know that they are worthy human beings regardless. Be assured, be confident, and be happy and remember the greatness of the likes of Gandhi that lived simply and with dignity without all the trappings.

The design of today cars is RUBISH!

90’s design was good and I prefer a 90’s clunker instead of ugly Chrysler or so. Will equip it with CNG system and be fine and dandy.

And the bottom line of the propaganda you are talking about: “Now it’s the right time to GET A LOAN!” 😉

I was reading the letter to the editor section in my local paper weeks ago, a dealership owner here said he learned that most people who were doing the CFC here were trading in their 2nd or 3rd backup car that was rarely being driving no more than 100 miles per year anyway.

So with the new car, these people will probably drive that more, pumping out more CO2 than the previous car they traded in that wasn’t driven much anymore to begin with.

My father works at a new car dealership and he says that new car sales have fallen off the table since the CFC program ended.

  19. aogilmor on October 22nd, 2009 9:11 am

Don, you don’t get it do you. NOW, NOW is ALWAYS the best time to buy a car, a house, stocks, bonds, REITs. Buy, buy, buy! Never sell. LOL…

that would be handed to you and “me”…..

NADA wants us to buy cars? Too bad everyone lost their jobs, and others are having their working hours cut down.
Too bad we had a sub-prime mortgage crisis. Too bad we will have a “Prime” mortgage crisis in the spring. Too bad the commercial real-estate market will crash in the spring.

Too bad we gave billions to GM and Chrysler and we ain’t getting the money back.

Too bad they used those billions to build factories in China and Russia.

Its too bad most Americans are lazy cowards.

When we are no longer able to consume, they’ll re-label us “Useless Eaters”…

  23. jsnip4 on October 22nd, 2009 9:11 am

The best part will be when they lose their jobs and that new car gets repossessed. They’ll be wishing they can go to the dealership and get their old paid for car back…sorry the parts have been sent to China…too late. We’ll be bailing out those loans just like you said and on top of it we’ll be bailing out the auto dealerships once again. I would advise anyone paying attention and reading this to research “The rise and fall of the Roman Empire.” Technology changes but people do not.

I guess i should trade in my 2007 toyota 4 cylinder truck clunker for a 2009 hybrid.
I’ll jump through hoops because they told me to : P
    Great Video Don.

  25. WesSeid on October 22nd, 2009 9:11 am

Don’t need a new car if you don’t have a job to drive to.
